Norton Hard Black Translucent

Vintage Norton Hard Black Translucent Stone is a genuine Arkansas sharpening stone made from natural novaculite, quarried and finished in the USA. The Hard Black series represents the black translucent grade — one of the hardest and finest novaculite types available.

This stone is ideal for ultra-fine finishing and mirror polishing. The estimated grit is around 12-15,000 JIS. It not only sharpens but also burnishes and compresses the edge, improving durability and finish.

It’s an oil stone by design but works well with slurries and polishing compounds. Extremely wear-resistant — will last for generations.
